After winning the UEFA Europa League title last season, Tottenham Hotspur would be driven to improve even further this season. However, this would be easier said than done for the new Spurs coach Thomas Frank, who will be facing a lot of challenges in his first season in charge of the English team.
The North London side will be kicking off their 2025-26 campaign today with a match against Burnley. But it is quite clear that there are still some deficiencies in the squad that Frank would be looking to eliminate before the end of this summer transfer window.
One of the most glaring of these weaknesses is the relative lack of wingers who can play hugging the byline on the left wing. In fact, Mathys Tel is the only out-and-out left winger in the Tottenham squad right now.
Seemingly, Spurs are also aware of this deficiency, and are looking to land another left winger. For this purpose, they have been linked with the Manchester City forward Savinho.
As per a report from Sebastien Vidal, the Premier League side is ready to make another offer for the Brazilian, and this offer is going to be closer to the £50 million that Manchester City are asking for to part with Savinho.
Thomas Frank sees the former Girona player as an ideal candidate to replace Son Heung-Min, as the South-Korean star left for MLS this summer after spending 10 years at Tottenham.
There is no doubt that Savinho would be a very interesting signing, and his arrival can make the Spurs attack significantly more destabilizing and dangerous. His pace and skills would bring a lot more ammunition to Thomas Frank’s attack, while his shooting ability would also help his side get more goals.
The fact that Savinho has already spent some time in the Premier League would make him an even more attractive target for Tottenham. But for now, it remains to be seen whether he will end up at the North London club, as Spurs are also being linked with several other forwards, including Alejandro Garnacho and Eberechi Eze.
