Tottenham are eyeing a move for versatile Galatasaray full-back.

Savinho and Omar Marmoush are both set to swap Manchester City for Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days, with the pair becoming the club’s seventh and eighth signings of the summer transfer window. The duo will be crucial in adding much-needed creativity, flair and goals to the Roberto De Zerbi-managed side’s attack.

Spurs have endured an underwhelming start to the new season, losing 3-0 to London rivals Brentford on the opening weekend. Even though they do not have European distractions this season, Roberto De Zerbi wants to beef up his squad before the September 1 transfer deadline.

Tottenham showing interest in Galatasaray star

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik , Tottenham are in the running for Galatasaray’s versatile full-back Roland Sallai. The North London club have made an approach for the 29-year-old and asked for the conditions of the transfer. They will continue to monitor his situation, with Galatasaray open to selling for the right price.

One of Galatasaray’s most consistent players in recent times, Roland Sallai has made a strong start to the new season. He found the back of the net in the 12th minute of Galatasaray’s 4-0 win over Erzurumspor F.K at the weekend.

Tottenham aren’t the only club interested in the Hungarian international. The report adds that Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, Fulham, Liverpool and Hull City have all been linked. The Turkish giants are expecting around €20m for Sallai’s potential transfer.

Spurs must go for Sallai

Spurs sold Djed Spence to Inter Milan earlier this month. This has left De Zerbi with Pedro Porro as the only recognised right-back in the squad, but as he was not deemed fit to play against Brentford, Archie Gray started in that position. Gray, who captained the side, endured a torrid afternoon against Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade, underlining the need for a specialist full-back.

Sallai, in that regard, would be a good option. The Hungarian can play in multiple positions across defence and midfield, but over the last few seasons, he has predominantly operated as a right-back. The 29-year-old registered seven goal contributions in 47 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray last season.

The Budapest-born star could be tempted to test himself in the Premier League, having moved to Turkey from Freiburg in 2024. He could be a more than sufficient replacement for Spence and provide quality back-up for Porro at Spurs. Valued at around €20m, Tottenham must be all over the experienced and versatile full-back.
