Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing him.

According to Fichajes, the 24-year-old defender is at the top of the list as they look to replace Cristian Romero in the summer. The Argentine International has been linked with top clubs like Atletico Madrid, and he could be on his way out of the club.

The former Chelsea Academy graduate has established himself as a reliable defender in the Premier League, and he has had an outstanding season with the Eagles. There is no doubt that he’s good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the country, and a move to Tottenham could be ideal.

He will want to join a club where he will be able to experience European football and fight for trophies.

Can Tottenham finish the season strongly?

Tottenham are currently in the final of the UEFA Europa League, and they will be able to secure Champions League qualification if they manage to win the tournament. It has been a disappointing Premier League campaign for them, and they will look to finish the season strongly by winning the European Cup.

It would not only help them financially, but it would also help them attract top-quality players in the summer.

Marc Guehi has been excellent this season

Guehi has outperformed Romero in several metrics this season. He has had more availability, better clearances and blocks numbers, he has also been more effective when it comes to scoring, creating big chances and long passing from the deep. Furthermore, Guehi has been more effective in winning ground duels, whereas Romero has excelled in aerial duels. Romero has marginally better numbers when it comes to tackling.

These statistics certainly suggest that Guehi would be a quality alternative to the South American. He is young enough to improve further, and he could develop into a top-class player for Tottenham.
