The forward has not really got going for Tottenham in the Premier League.

Randal Kolo Muani was signed as a marquee incoming at Hotspur Way in what was Daniel Levy’s final signing of his tenure at N17. The Frenchman was brought to North London on loan in what looked like the end of Spurs struggling to fill that Harry Kane goalscoring void from #9.

The French #9 who never found his feet at Hotspur Way

Kolo Muani had links citing back years with Tottenham, and it looked like the Lilywhites finally got their man. But the Frenchman’s time at N17 hasn’t yielded any returns as such. He initially struggled with injuries, and once he was fit, he struggled to get his feet sorted.

It shows in his output. The former Frankfurt forward has netted just five goals in 36 appearances for the Lilywhites across all competitions, and has just scored 1 goal in the PL.

Tottenham have had three different managers taking charge on the sidelines this season, and Kolo Muani has struggled under all three. There have been flashes with him. We have seen him get those runs in behind; we have had glimpses of sharp movements and those occasional reminders of why he was so highly rated by Tottenham and Levy, but he hasn’t been able to sustain that. At least not enough to make Tottenham push for making his stay a permanent one.

And senior transfer correspondent at Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke, insists that Spurs will not make his arrival a permanent one. In a recent appearance on Transfer Insider’s Inside Track podcast, he name-dropped Juventus as one of the possible destinations for Kolo Muani. He said:

“Muani has had a difficult season at Tottenham and obviously it doesn’t look like that move will be made permanent from Paris Saint-Germain.

“It’s probably more likely, if he does end up leaving PSG on a permanent deal, that a move back to Juventus could be on the cards.

“Obviously they tried, in the January window, to bring him back to Turin, but I think if Juve qualify for the Champions League, which they’re looking well placed to do, maybe they could step up their interest to bring the French international back to the club in the summer.

“I would imagine that would probably be more likely than a move to Anfield.”

Kolo Muani has been linked with Liverpool

Alongside Tottenham, Kolo Muani has also been linked with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool. The Merseysiders have been looking to replace Hugo Ekitike in their roster after he suffered a long-term injury recently, and Arne Slot & Co. have apparently identified Muani as a possible striker to fill in for him.

The Reds’ links to Kolo Muani come as a surprise to many given his struggles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With relegation still looming at N17, the transfer strategy at Hotspur Way still remains blurry, but it looks like it won’t change fates for Kolo Muani, at least. There is a massive squad overhaul expected at Tottenham this summer, and it looks like it will start with Kolo Muani.
