Traore adds to Napoli woes against Lazio

Napoli named their squad for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Lazio, missing Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Giovanni Simeone, Jens Cajuste and Hamed Junior Traore.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday at 17.00 GMT.

Coach Walter Mazzarri is trying to shake off the disappointment of losing the Supercoppa Italiana to a last-gasp Lautaro Martinez goal on Monday evening.

The cards in that tournament pass on to Serie A, so the squad is decimated by bans to Simeone – who saw red against Inter – Kvaratskhelia and Cajuste.

Alex Meret, Mathias Olivera and Natan are still injured, with Victor Osimhen and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.

There were hopes that new signing Traore could make his debut, but the midfielder on loan from Bournemouth with an option to buy arrived nowhere near fully fit.

Mazzarri decided to leave him behind with the coaching staff so he could work on getting back up to speed.
