Inter Milan will reportedly continue to rely heavily on Turkish playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu during the 2025/26 season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 31-year-old remains central to Cristian Chivu’s project at San Siro.

It’s been a turbulent summer for Hakan Calhanoglu, and it’s not over yet.

Despite intense speculation linking him with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, he remains a Nerazzurri player.

However, the former could reportedly make a late bid to sign the former AC Milan midfielder.

Hakan Calhanoglu Remains Central to Cristian Chivu Project at Inter Milan

Calhanoglu has been one of the most consistent Nerazzurri performers over the past four years.

Indeed, he has been omnipresent in the engine room, establishing himself as the beating heart of this team.

Though fans questioned his loyalty during the summer, Cristian Chivu views Calhanoglu as indispensable.

Calhanoglu’s vision and passing made him a cornerstone of Inter’s midfield during Simone Inzaghi’s tenure.

Nothing will change under Chivu, with the Romanian keen to give the 31-year-old the same freedom in his first season in charge.
