AC Milan summer signings Ruben Loftus Cheek and Christian Pulisic have been likened to Frank Rijkaard and Roberto Donadoni respectively.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), there are clear parallels to be drawn between the playing styles of the former Chelsea men and two names from Milan’s history.

Loftus-Cheek signed from Chelsea in the summer as one of many midfield signings, but he has certainly proven to be the most successful. His goal return is very impressive and he is undoubtedly a part of Stefano Pioli’s best starting eleven.

This has led to him being described by the newspaper as ‘like Rijkaard’s grandson’ for the way he glides around the pitch and takes on defenders.

The best signing of the summer has undoubtedly been Pulisic, though, who is having his most productive season even in front of goal.

Donadoni is the player that Gazzetta has chosen to compare the American to, saying that: “He is a bit reminiscent of Roberto Donadoni, compared to whom he is perhaps less talented, but equally effective.”

An argument can be made to say that both Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic have been Milan’s two best players this season and they are both looking very settled in their new surroundings.
