UEFA officially confirm Champions League 2026/27 Manchester United squad

Manchester United’s squad for their upcoming Champions League campaign has been revealed, just hours after their Premier League squad was also submitted.

The Red Devils, competing in the prestigious UEFA competition for the first time since the 2023/24 season, had their fixtures for the tournament confirmed last week.

Later confirmation revealed that Michael Carrick’s side will face Azerbaijan outfit Sabah at Old Trafford in their opening Champions League match before travelling across Europe to Spain to face Atletico Madrid.

Whilst much excitement remains for the upcoming league phase, that will stretch for eight matches between this month and the end of January, it will add further matches to United’s busy schedule, creating the possibility for more injuries in the squad.

Taking to the official UEFA website, the footballing body have confirmed that Manchester United have named 25 players in their squad for the Champions League this season.

Amongst those named is new signings Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba, as well as returning United winger Marcus Rashford, and Manuel Ugarte, who is recovering from a major injury sustained at this summer’s World Cup.

Notably, central defender Leny Yoro and youth academy talent JJ Gabriel have not been named in the squad on the official website.

Jack Fletcher and Tyler Fletcher have also not been named in this squad, whilst Shea Lacey has also missed out on a spot.

It remains unclear what Michael Carrick’s plans for Champions League fixtures will be, considering the busy schedule that could exist with Premier League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup action all to weigh up.
