Van Dijk Sympathizes With Alexander Isak Over Complicated Liverpool Move- 'It's Never Easy'

Liverpool fans are on a high so far this season as the team has won its first five games. The Reds one all five of their matches very late in the game, and their most recent win was against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The club has made many marquee signings, including Alexander Isak, who was rumored to join the team since the start of the summer transfer window.

Isak was officially announced as a Liverpool player on deadline day after weeks of Newcastle United not willing to sell the Swedish striker.

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk spoke about Isak's summer being tough for the striker. Van Dijk opens his thoughts on Isak's move to Liverpool being delayed for many weeks as the club struggled to find an agreement with Newcastle United.

Virgil Van Dijk: "I know it was a very difficult time. When negotiations always drag on, it’s never easy. So many things are going on behind the scenes."

Van Dijk expressed his joy at seeing Alexander Isak join the club, as the striker is considered one of the best forwards in the world. The Liverpool captain is excited to see how Isak fits into the squad, along with many Liverpool fans.

Virgil Van Dijk: "Not only me, but the whole team and everyone connected to the club was very pleased that the deal got done. Now he’s here, he’s a part of the family and it is time for him to be as fit as he can as quickly as possible, and be important for us with goals, with assists, with link-up play, and with what Hugo (Ekitike) has already been showing and doing, pushing each other and bringing us to the next level."

Alexander Isak made his Liverpool debut in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid at Anfield. He started on his Liverpool debut and played 58 minutes. Isak took two shots in the match and created a chance for his team.
