Hellas Verona have officially signed Spain international defender Unai Nunez from Celta Vigo, on loan with an option to buy.
Full name Unai Nunez Gestoso, the centre-back came up from the Athletic Club academy in Bilbao, moving on to Celta Vigo in 2022 for an initial loan and then €7m transfer.
He spent last season back in Bilbao on loan with Athletic Club, featuring in the Europa League semi-final against Manchester United, and now has his first experience abroad in Serie A.
The 28-year-old has one senior cap for Spain, which he earned in September 2019, just weeks after starting the victorious European Under-21 Championship Final.
According to Sky Sport Italia, this is a loan with option to buy at the end of the season set at €5m.
This is the second Spanish addition for Verona this week alone, as they already signed 21-year-old midfielder Yellu Santiago as a free agent following his experience at Getafe.
