Adam Marusic faces an uncertain future at Lazio, considering his expiring contract, and his entourage has started offering him to a few teams, including Juventus and Napoli, to apply some pressure, Calciomercato informs.

The veteran was keen on leaving last summer, but the Biancocelesti picked up an option to keep him. They couldn’t operate in the transfer market and replace him, so they stayed the course.

Marusic currently makes €1M and demands to double his wages in a multi-year deal, which Lazio are unwilling to offer because of their financial constraints, while Juventus and Napoli could match the request.

Coach Maurizio Sarri favors his permanence considering their numerous question marks at the position. However, the fullback would have to accept a short-term deal for that to happen. He’d remain a regular in the Eternal City, while he’d be a rotational piece elsewhere.

While the Montenegrin international could be a cheap target to add some depth, the Partenopei and the Old Lady have loftier plans for their right wings. According to TuttoSport (via SportPaper), they are both after Marco Palestra. Inter and a few Premier League sides are eyeing him too. It’d take at least €30/35M to convince Atalanta to sell.

Our Take on Marusic, Napoli, and Juventus

The Bianconeri are probably unlikely to add older players, even for free, and need a real investment on one of the flanks to balance out their formation. Instead, the Partenopei have been searching for a Giovanni Di Lorenzo deputy for a few years. If the starlets on the radar prove to be too expensive or they prefer spending on other roles, they could indeed go for the Lazio linchpin.
