Villa chief Vidagany scouts Villarreal attacker Baena

Aston Villa director of football operations Damian Vidagany has been on a scouting mission.

The Premier League club are being linked with the signature of Alex Baena from Villarreal.

The La Liga side were in action recently against Rayo Vallecano, with Vidagany in attendance.

Manager Unai Emery relies on Vidagany as part of his setup at the club, along with sporting director Monchi.

Spanish outlet AS claim to have seen Vidagany in the stands of La Ceramica stadium.

Villarreal were 3-0 victors in that clash, with Baena having an impressive game on the wing.
