Dusan Vlahovic saw ‘big changes’ from Juventus against Real Madrid and is reassured despite the 1-0 defeat. ‘We must have this mentality in every game.’

The mood in the Juve camp was already dark after failing to get a win for a month in all competition, managing just five consecutive draws and a 2-0 defeat to Como.

The performance at the Bernabeu was arguably better than many had expected, creating several good chances to score, but they also conceded many and were ultimately undone by a Jude Bellingham tap-in when Vinicius saw his angled drive bounce off the upright.

Vlahovic sees Juventus improvement

“I saw big changes from the game with Como, and many other performances this season,” Vlahovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“We talked after that match and agreed we must have this mentality in every game, whether it is against Real Madrid or with all due respect Como. We must have the same mentality and humility, that is how we can get results.

“It is not possible for such an important club to have these changes from one game to the next, as at the weekend we were not at the level of Juventus. I don’t want to say something bad that can be misinterpreted, but the performance was not at the level of Juventus.

“We leave here with a defeat, but the performance was much better, we now need to focus on Lazio and another very difficult away fixture.”

Juventus are without a win in seven competitive games, their longest streak since eight in April-May 2009.

“We need to work, to talk every day, as I think everyone is giving 100 per cent, but it is not enough. We’ve got to talk daily about this situation, and it is the only way to grow, as otherwise we go back to the usual ups and downs. We all know that we must raise the level,” added Vlahovic.

The Serbian was back in the starting XI this evening, so does he hope for more consistency in the team?

“The coach decides, as I said three months ago, I am at the disposal of the club, work my hardest, and do what is asked of me.”
