Day 4 of the third Test match between India and England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground was all heated up, with pacer Mohammed Siraj taking center-stage. The 31-year-old bowler gave a fiery send-off to English opener Ben Duckett, after dismissing him early into the day’s play.

The third Test match at Lord’s has tested everyone’s nerves. Opting to bat first, England posted a first-innings total of 387, guided by a century from Joe Root, and quick runs from Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse.

India responded strongly, matching England’s total with an identical score of 387. This effort was anchored by a brilliant hundred from KL Rahul and supported by significant contributions in the seventies from Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant.

The atmosphere of the match intensified dramatically at the close of Day 3, after England’s openers, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley came out to bat for just two overs. They faced verbal taunts from the visitors, and tensions escalated further when Jasprit Bumrah injured Crawley, which prompted the opener to seek medical attention, sparking accusations of time-wasting from the home side. The day concluded with a heated standoff between Shubman Gill and Crawley, during which Gill made aggressive gestures.

Day 4 of the Lord’s Test began with high tension and tempers flared on the pitch. Mohammed Siraj, who had been instrumental in the Edgbaston Test with his six-wicket haul, secured the breakthrough for India in the sixth over. An aggressive Ben Duckett, having already struck two fours, was dismissed when while attempting to drive the ball down the ground, leading to a catch by Jasprit Bumrah at mid-on.

The intense reaction following the wicket subsequently sent fans into a frenzy. Siraj, after having bowled a brilliant 140kph back-of-the-length delivery to dismiss the English opener, ran towards the departing Duckett to give him an aggressive send-off. He shouted and celebrated emphatically on the left-hander’s face. Siraj even tapped on Duckett’s shoulder before the on-field umpire intervened to calm things down.

Mohammed Siraj did not stop there, getting another one of England’s top batters, Ollie Pope, in the 12th over of the second innings. The 31-year-old’s ball struck Pope on the front pad as he attempted a shot down the ground. Despite on-field umpire Paul Reiffel ruling it not out, Siraj promptly persuaded Shubman Gill to opt for a review, which later confirmed that the ball was in fact hitting the stumps perfectly in line.

With the third Test between India and England nearing its conclusion, emotions are high and intense. Mohammed Siraj ended the second innings with figures of 2/31 from his 13-over spell, as he helped restrict the Three Lions to a total of just 192 runs.

Mohammed Siraj Pays Emotional Tribute to Deceased Liverpool Star Diogo Jota After Claiming Wicket at Lord’s

Ace Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj paid a heartfelt tribute to deceased Liverpool and Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota, after claiming his first wicket in the third Test between India and England at Lord’s. Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, were tragically killed in a road accident in Cernadilla, Spain, on 3 July.

After claiming the wicket of Jamie Smith in the first innings of the third Test, Mohammed Siraj put his fingers in a way to gesture the number 20, which was a direct reference to the jersey number that Diogo Jota wore during his time at Liverpool. Speaking after the match, Siraj shared his emotions regarding the unfortunate passing of the former Portuguese star.
