Liam Delap is really struggling at Chelsea and a look at his last 34 shots shows some serious flaws in his shooting technique.

There was one moment against Newcastle which really summed up Liam Delap’s Chelsea career so far. He had been brought on to help the team find a goal they desperately needed, and in a game of few chances for the Blues, one finally fell for their frontman.

Reece James swung in a great cross from the right and Marc Cucurella got a touch on it which set it perfectly for Delap to his first time from 7 yards out. He blasted it miles over, not just ending up with a bad result but also looking technically terrible in doing it, with his balance all over the place.

Delap’s last 34 shots don’t make pretty viewing

It forms the opening clip in a highlight reel of the striker’s last shots for Chelsea. The striker has one Premier League goal since signing for the Blues, and you can see why.

This is like a compilation of how not to take shots: ugly, clumsy, wasteful. The real winner here is Nicolas Jackson – as many fans are pointing out in the comments, he never looked this shaky.

You can see the compilation in the clip embedded here:

Estevao Willian is back in Chelsea training, that’s the good news. The bad news is that two other players missed out on today’s session.
