Smash Apple TV Plus series Ted Lasso has become synonymous with everything soccer since premiering last August, so it's only right that Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) introduced the U.S. Women's National Team roster heading to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics:

They do. We do.

Ted was particularly jazzed about defender Kelley O'Hara because he endearingly confused her for actress Kelli O'Hara, "who we saw in The King and I," as well as goalkeeper Adrianna Franch because she's "from the spectacular state of Kansas, smack dab in the middle of this son of a gun called America."

Coach Beard aptly pointed out that Rose Lavelle "looks a lot like Daisy from Downton Abbey."
Moving onto the forwards, Ted called Megan Rapinoe a "cultural icon and someone that you can just tell gives a hell of a high five." When Coach Beard added Pinoe claimed the Golden Boot and Golden Ball at the 2019 World Cup, Ted pondered aloud why anybody would want just one boot.
"Maybe it's to slow down greatness," Coach Beard posited.
"Soccer's always a step ahead—they always are—but not too far ahead, otherwise that's offside," Ted quipped.
Alex Morgan's Ted Lasso-inspired goal celebration from last month was addressed as was her viral tea-sip celly after scoring the game-winning score against England in the '19 World Cup semifinal.

The only downside to this glorious video is that it set the bar at an unattainable height for the Olympic play-by-play announcers and commentators that will be assigned to USWNT matches once action kicks off in Tokyo on July 21.
Ted Lasso's second season will drop July 23, however, so soccer lovers everywhere can enjoy both at the same time.
