The Wolves have solidified their position in the middle of the table and will seek to prevail against the Toffees, confirming their good form in the league. They have only lost in one of their last five games and maintain a streak of two consecutive victories, the latest being a resounding 4-1 win against Brentford.
Wolverhampton has not lost as a home team in the English league since September 16, in the defeat against Liverpool by 1-3. Since then, at Molineux, they have built an undefeated streak that now spans seven matches, including notable victories such as the one against Manchester City.
Everton continues to flirt with the relegation zone. They are currently outside of it, in 17th place, but if Luton Town defeats Chelsea this evening, the Toffees would find themselves playing against Wolves in the red zone.
The Goodison Park team is coming off a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in their last match, marking two consecutive losses. Today, they face a very challenging task at Molineux, which has been a stronghold for Wolverhampton this season. If they manage to win, the Toffees could climb to the fourteenth position.

Manchester United picked up their first win of pre-season against West Ham United during their USA tour, but there are still clear gaps in the squad that haven’t been addressed. Matheus Cunha has caught the eye in both of his outings so far, while Bryan Mbeumo is still waiting to make his debut for United after joining later than the Brazilian. Cunha and Mbeumo bring much-needed attacking quality to a side that struggled for goals last season. But with financial constraints still in place, the rest of the transfer window will not be straightforward. Even so, Fabrizio Romano reports that United remain ‘very convinced’ they’ll land the signing Ruben Amorim wants most. Fabrizio Romano shares Man United transfer update United started the window strong by signing Cunha in early June, but the drawn-out talks for Mbeumo highlighted the financial challenges they’re facing. With nearly £130m now tied up in those two deals, United are at a point where selling players might be necessary before any further signings can happen. Losing Marcus Rashford has helped ease the wage bill, but moving on the rest of the players Amorim doesn’t want is proving to be less straightforward. Despite these challenges, Fabrizio Romano suggests United remain hopeful about bringing in a player to fill one of their most pressing needs. “Man Utd will be active on the opportunities to bring in a striker next week,” he said on his YouTube channel. “Man Utd will get a new striker because they are very convinced about that,” he said on Here We Go podcast. Are United quietly closing in on a new striker? It’s understood that Amorim has been privately assured a new striker is on the way, something that should come as welcome news. The United manager has publicly backed the club’s approach throughout the window, staying away from any back-and-forth with the media. He has already seen 35 Premier League goals added to his squad before pre-season kicked off, although the need for a striker was still glaring. United struggled to secure some of their attacking targets, but if they’re now feeling more confident about landing a new striker, it suggests that progress is being made behind the scenes.
There may be more to Christian Wilkins’ recent surprise release from the Las Vegas Raiders. NFL reporter Josina Anderson reported Saturday that "some sources believe an incident involving a teammate may have factored in-part into the Raiders' fatigue and release" of Wilkins. The nature of the incident is not clear. However, many believe the Raiders had a very good reason to move on from Wilkins considering the money they had invested in him. It also suggests the Raiders saw no alternative if they went straight to a release. Wilkins was dumped by the Raiders just one year into a four-year, $110 million deal. The Raiders suggested Wilkins failed to take rehab seriously as he tries to work his way back from a foot injury. Other teams do not appear to have the same concerns about Wilkins as the Raiders did, and he should find a new landing spot fairly easily. That is one of the reasons some suspect there is more to the Raiders’ decision than they are publicly saying.
The Cleveland Browns are giving Shedeur Sanders special treatment in training camp, but it's not the type of favoritism the fifth-round pick would necessarily want. Per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN, Sanders is the only Browns quarterback who has not been taking reps with the first-team offense during OTAs or the first two practices of training camp. Former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Kenny Pickett, veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel have all split reps with the first team. Despite being asked to throw passes to members of the equipment staff amid a shortage of professional pass-catchers for a four-quarterback roster, Sanders said he's thankful for the opportunity to show the Browns coaching staff his talents. "I feel like that it's not in my control, so I'm not going to think about that or even have that in my thought process of why it is," Sanders said to a question as to why he's not getting first-team reps. "There's a lot of people who want to have the opportunity to be at this level, and I'm here and I'm thankful to have the opportunity. So, whenever that is, that is." Sanders, 23, believes that he can contribute more to the Browns than what the coaching staff is asking of him. "It doesn't make me feel down or left out because I know who I am as a person," Sanders said. "I know who I am as an individual and I know what I could bring to this team. So, I can never feel less than any circumstance." The Browns selected Sanders with the No. 144 pick in April's draft. As a player whom many draft analysts thought was a first-round talent, Cleveland took what could be the steal of the draft in the fifth round. It's curious why the Browns aren't giving Sanders a shot with the first team early in training camp before the quarterback race becomes more serious. Cleveland should see what Sanders has to offer this summer. Flacco, 40, isn't a long-term solution at the position. Pickett failed in Pittsburgh. The Browns need to gauge what rookies Gabriel and Sanders can do with the first team. Having Sanders throw balls to the equipment staff is a waste of everyone's time. But then again, Cleveland has wasted plenty of quarterbacks.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have plenty of suitors for third baseman Eugenio Suarez. A new team has reportedly entered the market for his services. Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Phillies have reached out regarding Suarez. While Lauber did not provide any indication as to whether or not those talks have gained traction, the Phillies are an intriguing suitor for the Diamondbacks' third baseman. The Phillies' interest may be a recent development. Jon Heyman of the New York Post speculated on Friday that the Phillies could emerge as a suitor in the wake of third baseman Alec Bohm landing on the injured list with a fractured left rib. Suarez is in the midst of what is arguably his best season thus far. He has produced a .249/.321/.587 batting line in 421 plate appearances entering Saturday with 36 homers and a major league-leading 87 RBI. Suarez would be more than just another powerful bat in the lineup. Designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and first baseman Bryce Harper are both left-handed hitters — adding Suarez would provide more balance in the batting order. He would also provide a counter against opposing managers bringing in a lefty reliever to face Schwarber and Harper. The biggest question would be how the Phillies would handle an eventual logjam on the roster. Bohm is expected to return from the IL in mid-August and would not have a clear path to regular at-bats if Suarez were acquired. Schwarber could theoretically return to left field to open up playing time at the DH spot, but his outfield defense is mediocre at best. However, as the Phillies are also looking to upgrade the outfield, where Max Kepler and Brandon Marsh have been disappointments, adding Suarez could solve several problems in one fell swoop.
