Oasis now have a whole new generation of fans who had only experienced their music through TikTok, Spotify or a parent playing the band around the house. This world tour will bring them to the frontlines of music for new and old faces alike.
Even those who weren’t born when songs like Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger dropped know all the words. So when Oasis announced their tour, it sparked a wave of excitement that reached far beyond the music scene itself.

Players young and old from Manchester United had previously compared their football style to Oasis songs and even serenaded players with their tunes, making the band’s music a regular feature on matchdays.
Of course, not everyone is keen on the reunion – at least, not every City fan. But the buzz around the band shows how strong their following still is, no matter where your football loyalties lie.
During a recent chat with the BBC, Wayne Rooney was asked to pick his top three Oasis tracks – and given his well-documented love for the band, it’s no surprise he had more than a few favourites.
Wayne Rooney’s mixed taste in music is well known. He’s talked about listening to everything from Susan Boyle before matches to booking Westlife for his wedding.
So when the return of Oasis started making headlines, Rooney was naturally asked about his favourite tracks.
“I’m a big Oasis fan,” Rooney said. “It’s difficult to pick three top songs because there’s so many good songs.
“I like Cigarettes and Alcohol, Wonderwall, Half The World Away.
“There’s so many top songs which they have and I’m really looking forward to watching them.”
Rooney’s support for Oasis goes beyond just being a fan. Back in 2020, he jumped in: “Yes, I’d vote for Oasis to get back together,” and posted this tweet.
Noel Gallagher, a lifelong City supporter, once sent Rooney a very unique birthday present. The story goes that Rooney’s wife, Coleen, asked for a signed guitar – but Noel added his own twist, painting it in City colours and covering it with chants before sending it back.
Rooney didn’t seem to mind. “I was lucky enough to get one of the guitars off them when I was younger,” he told the BBC. “I think it was Noel who spray painted it sky blue and put ‘Happy birthday Spongebob’. I think he thought he messed it up, but it’s a one off so I really like that guitar.”
Regardless of the banter, Rooney’s admiration for Oasis has never wavered. He’s always been open about his support, even if it meant catching a bit of stick from the blue half of Manchester.
