More trophies to follow at N17 as Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy aims high for next season

Tottenham are heading into the new season with high expectations after the club managed to do the unthinkable and win the Europa League last month. The Lilywhites finally ended the 17-year wait for a major trophy after defying all odds by beating Manchester United in the final. Winning the competition also ensured Champions League qualification for next season.

However, the historic achievement was not enough for Ange Postecoglou to save his job at N17 as the Australian tactician was questionably sacked just two weeks after the Europa League success. The decision to relieve Big Ange from his duties was not taken well by the fans, and many thought that Daniel Levy was stopping the club’s progress yet again.

It is not often that the Spurs fans get to celebrate their team’s success once a season ends. The Lilywhites have only won two major trophies in the last 25 years during Daniel Levy’s tenure. This just shows that the North London club has regressed to new lows under the Englishman’s leadership. The problems on-the-pitch continue to grow, while Levy enjoys making profits by commercialising the club every year.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is hungry for more silverware

It is a rare occasion that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has come out and highlighted the goals for Thomas Frank as the club looks to kickstart a new era at N17. The Englishman has become a villain in the eyes of Spurs fans after leading the club to new lows during his 25-year stint at Hotspur Way. But the fans will now hope that Levy learns from his mistakes and uses the Europa League success as a springboard for future glory.

The Spurs chairman decided to highlight the club’s objectives heading into next season as the Lilywhites aim to win more silverware. Speaking to the official Tottenham Hotspur channel, Levy said,

“The outpouring of emotion with the parade, was just incredible. We’ve won a European trophy, but it isn’t enough. What we haven’t done is more important, we need to win the Premier league, we want to win the Champions League.”

Daniel Levy insisted that seeing thousands of Tottenham fans on the street during the trophy parade was a sight for sore eyes. The Spurs chairman also put out a bold statement stating that the club is aiming high and winning the Europa League is not enough. Levy suggested that the Lilywhites want to win the Premier League and the Champions League now, after the club ended their trophy drought last month.

Fans can only hope that Daniel Levy’s action speak louder than his words. The club chairman has time and again made such promises, but has always failed to deliver when it has mattered the most. The first step towards success is by backing the newly appointed manager and bringing in reinforcements in the summer.
