‘We will see’ – Inter Milan all but confirms talks over crazy transfer swap deal

Inter Milan are in a very tough battle for the Scudetto in Serie A, barely ahead of rivals AC Milan and last season’s Italian champions Napoli in what is looking to be yet another heated Calcio race.

The Nerazzurri want to beef up their team after an injury to Denzel Dumfries, as Joao Cancelo is available at right back from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal and is of high interest to Inter, Barcelona, and other elite clubs in Europe.

According to Fabrizio Romano, legendary Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that the Nerazzurri are after Cancelo, acknowledging a massive salary to contend with, and he also confirmed that Al Hilal are looking for a center back in exchange:

“João Cancelo has a huge salary, we are in talks to understand the situation. We need a new RB. Al Hilal want a new centre back… we will see.”

It was Fabrizio Romano who reported that Inter could try to sell off aging center backs Stefan de Vrij, who has not been good in ages, or Francesco Acerbi, who was a hero en route to the Champions League Final last season, in order to entice Al Hilal to sell one of the biggest names at the fullback position to them.
