'We wont stay down' – Chelsea player issues end of season message after awful season

Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has come out and issued an end of season message to Blues fans after a terrible season.

The Blues finished in 10th place in the end and missed out on any kind of European football at all for next season. As bad as that end bit is, it might actually be a blessing in disguise for Xabi Alonso and his Chelsea players as it means no regular midweek games in Europe to effect fatigue and risk more injuries. They will have more time to build something, but less excuses to use if things went wrong yet again.

It’s been the end of the fourth season in charge for these Chelsea owners, and overall it’s been nowhere near good enough. Missing out on Champions League football once again is a disgrace after all the money they have spent on this squad.

Wont stay down

Gusto took to Instagram yesterday and said:

“It’s really hard to put this season into words. Deep down, I know there’s a lot to take from it once the frustration fades, but right now it just hurts for us, and I know for you too.

“We worked hard and put in so much effort daily, but this isn’t enough and it’s not where Chelsea belongs. We may have fallen, but we won’t stay down. That’s what I’ve learned being part of this club.

“Thank you for the support and come on Chelsea.”

Allegedly, Chelsea don’t want to sell Enzo Fernandez, and have set a high asking price for him. Although I don’t believe it…. I’m sure he’ll go for much less than £120m.

Levi Colwill had a great return to action following injury, and reports on his rehab show just how that was possible. People at Chelsea were surprised.
