West Ham are looking for alternatives after being priced out of move for Liverpool starlet

Liverpool have the reputation of being an excellent selling club, often holding firm in negotiations and managing to move on players on their own terms. It helps that they don’t get too many wrong in the transfer market.

The Reds are in a comfortable position financially, which allows them to have the upper hand during negotiations, as clubs know that there is no desperation to sell. This can be seen in the way they are standing firm for €100m for Luis Diaz from Bayern Munich.

Now, as per TalkSport (h/t Liverpool Echo ), West Ham United have started looking at alternatives after feeling priced out of a move for Liverpool star Harvey Elliott. The Reds are demanding £40m which the Hammers don’t want to pay.

West Ham move to other targets

The London club are now moving their attention to other targets, which includes another Reds starlet, Tyler Morton. However, it remains to be seen if they are just testing the waters elsewhere or have moved one, once and for all from Elliott.

It has been mentioned that two other clubs – RB Leipzig and Newcastle United are interested in Elliott. The young attacker has been a useful squad player from Arne Slot but might want to move elsewhere in search of regular starting game time.

At Liverpool, both the right-wing and the midfield is stacked, with Mohamed Salah nailed in for a spot on the right and the likes of Florian Wirtz and Dominic Szoboszlai available to play in attacking midfield.

Lack of game time?

The German in particular, has been signed for a huge fee from Bayer Leverkusen and is undoubedtly set to be the star of the midfield. Getting into the team ahead of him could be close to impossible.

The 22-year-old youngster has had a number of memorable moments in a Reds jersey. A player who gives his all on the field every single time he takes to it, he would be an excellent addition to any side.

It remains to be seen if any club makes an offer that Liverpool deem sufficient for Harvey Elliott this summer. If they don’t, the club would have no hesitation in keeping him and who knows, he might end up enjoying a prominent role next season.
