West Ham United reject bid for Crysencio Summerville

West Ham United were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the 2025/26 season, but it has not changed their transfer stance on one of their top players.

The Hammers are reportedly after £50 million if they are to sell Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville this summer, with Manchester United one of the clubs interested in his services.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side face a rebuild in the Championship next season, and after securing the services of Jarrod Bowen, a player also linked to the Red Devils this summer, will feel in a mightily strong position to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

If Manchester United are to sign Crysencio Summerville this summer, several hurdles stand in their way.

One of the immediately obvious blockades is interest from Serie A club AS Roma, who submitted a bid to West Ham United on Saturday evening.

That bid has been rejected, according to Fabrizio Romano on X, who reports that the proposed deal was worth “€40m plus add-ons”.

While Roma remain in talks, with a potential new bid soon after Summerville opened doors to the move, Manchester United will also feel other factors stack against them.

Marcus Rashford is not close to a move away from Old Trafford, and with Matheus Cunha also on the club’s books, the former will surely have to leave before United can pursue their interest in Crysencio Summerville.

For now, the Red Devils are behind in the queue to sign Crysencio Summerville but will remain hopeful that if they are to register interest in the 24-year-old, he will choose them over other opportunities.
