Spain remains the only national team to win back-to-back European Championships and a World Cup in the modern era, with their famous 2010 triumph in South Africa still regarded as one of the finest international sides in football history.

Heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spain national football team are once again among the favourites after their recent success under coach Luis de la Fuente.

Spain have been drawn in Group H alongside Uruguay national football team, Saudi Arabia national football team and Cape Verde national football team.

Their opening match of the tournament will come against Cape Verde on June 15 in Atlanta.

A lot of the attention around Spain’s squad announcement will focus on Lamine Yamal, who continues to establish himself as one of the best attacking players in world football.

Rodri is expected to lead the side after returning from injury earlier this year, while Pedri remains central to Spain’s midfield plans heading into the tournament.

What Time Is Spain's World Cup Squad Announcement?

The Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed that Luis de la Fuente will officially announce Spain’s 26-man World Cup squad on Monday, May 25. The event will take place in Madrid at 12:30 PM local time.

For fans in the United States, the squad announcement will begin at 6:30 AM EDT. Supporters in Mexico and parts of North America following Central Standard Time can watch from 12:30 PM CST.
