MrBeast admitted filming with Cristiano Ronaldo turned out very differently from what he had expected.
The YouTube star initially assumed he would only get a few minutes with the football icon because of how busy Ronaldo’s schedule is.
But when the cameras started rolling, the experience ended up being far more relaxed than he imagined.
Speaking on a February 2025 episode of the Clickbaited podcast, MrBeast explained that he expected the collaboration with Ronaldo to be extremely short.
“Filming with Ronaldo was crazy. When I was in contact with his team I was like, yo give me like three minutes.
“I’ll literally set up the challenge where we can film it on his way to the bathroom, I understand how busy this man is,” MrBeast said.
He added: “Then when it got to filming Ronaldo was like you can have as much time as you need, I just want you to have good content and I’d love to hang out afterwards.”
MrBeast said the response completely surprised him given Ronaldo’s global fame and demanding schedule.
The YouTuber had originally prepared for a very quick shoot, assuming the football star would only be available briefly. Instead, Ronaldo reportedly encouraged the team to take their time to make sure the video turned out well.
The collaboration didn’t end once filming wrapped either, as the YouTube star revealed: “We finished filming, he invited me over to his house. I was giving him every out in the book, I was like you don’t have to do this, filming this was great.”
“He’s a very nice guy. We chatted off-camera a lot and just hung out. It was not what I was expecting, he treated me way better than I ever imagined, it was a really good experience,” MrBeast concluded.
MrBeast said the interaction changed how he viewed the Portuguese superstar away from the pitch.
The experience also highlighted Ronaldo’s willingness to spend time ensuring the collaboration was enjoyable beyond just the filmed content.
The story quickly became another example of how different major athletes can be when the cameras stop rolling.
