Seattle Sounders host San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night in an important Western Conference matchup at Lumen Field.
San Jose come into the game sitting at the top of the conference after an impressive start to the 2026 MLS season, while Seattle are looking to continue their strong run at home and close the gap in the standings.
However, the visitors will be without one of their biggest attacking threats as Timo Werner misses the match through injury.
Timo Werner is unavailable for San Jose Earthquakes against the Seattle Sounders because of an injury.
The German forward will miss Wednesday’s trip to Seattle due to injury, adding to San Jose’s growing list of unavailable players ahead of the Western Conference clash.
Werner has still made a strong impact since arriving in MLS earlier this year.
The former Chelsea, RB Leipzig and Tottenham forward has scored four goals and provided five assists in his first seven league appearances for San Jose. He recently scored an important late winner against St. Louis City and quickly became one of Bruce Arena’s key attacking players.
The Earthquakes remain top of the Western Conference standings with 29 points from 12 matches, but Seattle have been in strong form as well and are unbeaten in their last several games.
