It is confirmed that Maurizio Micheli will join Andrea Berta at Arsenal from Napoli, as both the Partenopei and the Italian chief scout had been preparing for a new chapter for some time.

Sources confirm that Napoli’s chief scout, Micheli, is set to join Arsenal, as the BBC and other British sources reported on Tuesday.

Micheli’s Arsenal move confirmed

Micheli will become Berta’s main collaborator in North London, ending a very long chapter at Napoli.

Micheli first arrived in Naples in 2010 from Brescia and then returned in 2018 as a chief scout.

His role within De Laurentiis’ club had grown stronger a couple of years ago, shortly before Mauro Meluso arrived at the Stadio Maradona, right after Napoli’s title-winning campaign in 2022-23.

Evidently, however, after such a long journey at the club, Micheli had been considering a new challenge outside of Italy, and even Napoli considered moving towards different avenues after such a strong collaboration.

Arsenal’s prestige and the strong bond of mutual respect with Berta proved decisive, paving the way for the imminent turning point.
