Everything was going right for Inter Miami in the first half against Tigres UANL. They took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a penalty goal from Luis Suarez and arrived at halftime with a 1-0 lead.
At the start of the second half, things quickly changed for the worse. Jordi Alba suffered an ankle injury and couldn't continue. Not only did Inter Miami lose their starting left-back, but head coach Javier Mascherano received a red card.
The moment of Mascherano receiving a red card was not shown on television, but many fans noticed the Argentine was no longer on the sidelines. Mascherano was sitting above the stands and yelling instructions from above the touchline.
Mascherano also appeared to call his assistant coach on his phone. Mascherano appeared furious with his players from his new seat, and he was very angry with the red card he received.

According to Franco Panizo, who is covering the game live from Chase Stadium, Mascherano received a red card after complaining to the referee. He complained at the end of the first half and wanted to know why there were six minutes of added time.

The coach had some choice words for the refs at the end of 1st half due to what he perceived as too much stoppage time.
