Will England Say Alright to Ben White?

Six Gunners could be representing England in the next international break. They would have possibly equalled the record of seven had Saka not been injured.

A lot might depend on whether Thomas Tuchel chooses to recall Ben White.

The manager has said how unlucky the defender has been with his timing, often on the sidelines just at the moment the German is selecting a squad.

That seems to hint that, if fit, the 28-year-old would have added to his six caps, but also carries the warning that the window is getting smaller with every camp that is missed.

Can Ben White Win Over England Supporters?

Many English fans won’t sympathise with the player due to him choosing to return home early from the 2022 World Cup and, for the rest of the Southgate era, asking not to be considered for selection.

Rumours have since ranged from a clash with the coaching staff, feeling homesick or not being able to socialise with his peers as reasons he made himself unavailable.

The man himself has never made it public why he didn’t want to represent his country for a while.

The right-back has been fortunate that, in his absence, the role has become a problem position for his nation.

Five different individuals were utilised at RB during the last World Cup, so you assume a 100 per cent fit White would have been on the plane to North America?

Especially when you consider his versatility.

As we’ve previously discussed regarding White’s return to international football under Tuchel, his England future has been a talking point for some time.

Could Arsenal’s Rotation Help White’s England Chances?

It’s been a few seasons now since White didn’t have some sort of niggle, and you sense Mikel Arteta doesn’t feel comfortable starting him every few days?

That would be an issue in terms of the next Euros, but he could be an option in the squad.

His competition at Arsenal is Timber, but that’s worked out perfectly for both.

The Dutchman has his own history. Our manager has recently rotated his full-backs every few days, something that makes sense given the injury problems both White and Timber have experienced.

If Timber plays on the Sunday, White plays on the Wednesday, so I assume it’s Timber’s turn to play against Hull.

That lets both defenders have their minutes managed while getting enough playing time to stay in contention for their nations.

Stay healthy and a spot in the Three Lions’ XI could be up for grabs?

Now or never for White?
