PSG's manager, Luis Enrique, shocked many with his reaction after the Club World Cup Final. The Spanish manager was furious after the game and put his hands on Chelsea's João Pedro.

Cameras caught the moment where Enrique approached Pedro amongst a crowd of PSG and Chelsea players after the game. Pedro went down to the ground, and the cameras caught Enrique having his hands on the player's neck.

João Pedro hasn't asked for the PSG manager to be banned, but did speak about the incident involving the PSG player and Luis Enrique.

Enrique gave his side of the story during a post-match press conference but many wonder if the manager is expected to receive a ban from his actions. A former referee believes his actions will have serious consequences ahead of the new season that starts next month.

Former Referee Predicts Luis Enrique's Ban

Luis Enrique has yet to be banned for his actions against João Pedro. Still, former referee Iturralde Gonzalez has an idea of the extent of a potential punishment he may face.

Iturralde Gonzalez (former referee): “Luis Enrique could be suspended for a long time after slapping João Pedro in the face. In fact, he could even spend some time without being able to train.”

Mundo Deportivo reports that Luis Enrique could be suspended for a minimum of three games. A more serious ban, Iturralde Gonzalez describes, could be similar to what a current manager in Ligue 1 is facing.

Current Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca is facing a nine-month ban by the French Professional Football League (LFP) for confronting a referee during a match.

Fonseca's aggressive behavior was in March and is expected to be on the touchline in December. The suspension includes a ban from the touchline, locker room, and official areas before, during, and after matches.

Luis Enrique on João Pedro incident

After the match, Luis Enrique mentioned that his goal when approaching Chelsea and PSG players was to separate fights. The manager did not want his players to be involved in fights after the game.

Luis Enrique: "After the game, there was a situation that everyone could've avoided. My objective and my intention were, like always, to separate the players so there wouldn't be more problems. There was a lot of tension, pressure, and after that, there was a lot of pushing from a lot of people."

A new video from DAZN Futbol reveals Luis Enrique's thoughts after the incident with João Pedro. In the video, it appears the manager talks to someone about Pedro. Enrique says, "He's just standing there, he pushes me, I touch him, and he dives."
