Tottenham face Manchester United in the Europa League final this season

Tottenham Hotspur are now one step closer to end the 17-year long wait for a trophy. The Lilywhites have endured a disastrous campaign in the Premier League, sitting 16 th in the league table and hovering just above the relegation zone. However, the fans could not care less about the domestic form if Ange Postecoglou’s men manage to do the unthinkable and win the Europa League this season.

The North London club secured a place in the finals of the competition, thanks to a 0-2 win away from home against Bodo/Glimt. Spurs were already leading the tie 3-1 before heading to Norway, but an away win in tricky conditions must have been a morale booster for the players. Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro’s goals made sure that the Lilywhites booked a ticket to Bilbao for the finals.

Big Ange has come under a lot of scrutiny this season for the club’s poor results in the Premier League. But the Australian has managed to respond to his critics in the right way and the Lilywhites are now withing touching distance of winning the Europa League. All the poor results in the domestic competitions will be forgotten if Ange’s men manage to bring silverware back to N17.

David Bentley is backing Tottenham to win the Europa League

Tottenham take on Manchester United in the final of the Europa League. Both teams have struggled to get going for most parts of the campaign, but Spurs have an edge over the Red Devils. The Lilywhites have managed to beat United three times already in all competitions this season. This will surely bring some confidence amongst the Tottenham fans and players before they head to Bilbao for the final.

Former Spurs player David Bentley has also backed the Lilywhites to beat Manchester United and win the Europa League. The ex-player said on TNT Sports (via X),

“I was nervous before the game (vs Bodo/Glimt) because of the tricky conditions and just with the sort of season Tottenham have had. But I thought they turned up, they were outstanding and it was a really professional performance and they have got to a final. It is beautiful. Go on and win it, and beat Man United!”

David Bentley was clearly ecstatic that Tottenham managed to reach the Europa League final. The ex-Spurs player insisted that the players were outstanding in tricky conditions against Bodo/Glimt and they put in a professional performance. Bentley also backed the Lilywhites to win the Europa League and gave a rallying cry to the players to go all that way in the competition and beat Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou has the chance of ending Tottenham’s wait for trophy. The Australian did say earlier in the season that he tends to ‘win things’ in his second season at a club. Now that the Lilywhites have reached the Europa League finals, the 59-year-old will have the chance to prove his critics wrong and turn that into a reality.

However, winning the competition would not ensure Big Ange will stay at the helm for next season. The ex-Celtic boss is still on the verge of getting sacked. Daniel Levy has already started looking for replacements in case the 59-year-old departs. But Ange Postecoglou has the chance to end the season on a high and leave N17 with his head held high. Having defeated the Red Devils thrie already, we hope the club can make it a quadruple of sorts in Bilbao.
