Both teams reached this stage of the FA Cup after winning their respective Round 4 matches last month. Liverpool eliminated Brighton at home, while Wolves eliminated Grimsby Town away from home.

On February 14, 2026, Liverpool defeated Brighton 3-0 with goals from Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohamed Salah.

On February 15, 2026, Wolves defeated Grimsby Town 1-0 at Blundell Park with a goal from Santiago Bueno.

Earlier this week, Wolves and Liverpool played each other for the 29th matchday of the Premier League. Wolves hosted Liverpool at Molineux Stadium, and Wolves pulled an upset win.

Wolves defeated Liverpool 2-1 with goals from Rodrigo Gomes and Andre, who scored a last-minute winner through a deflection from Joe Gomez. Mohamed Salah scored the goal for Liverpool.
