Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso indicated that star forward Kylian Mbappé could see action in Sunday's Supercopa de España Final.
The 27-year-old forward has been troubled by a knee sprain for several weeks. He missed Thursday's semifinal against rivals Atletico Madrid.
Mbappé was deemed not fit enough to start in Sunday's final, though he has been included on the bench.
"Kylian Mbappé could play some minutes tonight. It will depend on how the game is going," Alonso said. "Dean Huijsen is ready for tonight. He's at a very high level in training. (Antonio) Rüdiger is also ready if we need him.
"It's a final, it's going to be an intense game with different phases, we need to maintain good control no matter what happens. The team needs to be competitive and know when to make their moves. This is about competing to win finals."
Mbappé has scored 29 goals through 24 matches this season for Real Madrid across all competitions.
