Youri Tielemans is one of six new faces to arrive at Old Trafford this summer, having signed for Manchester United from Aston Villa.

The Belgian international, who signed a five-year deal at the club, has previously had spells with Anderlecht, Monaco, and Leicester City, alongside Villa.

During his time at Villa, on the other hand, he made 134 appearances, scoring ten times and winning the Europa League last season.

Tielemans has been nursing an injury since joining Manchester United which, alongside a required break after the World Cup, has prevented him from playing for the club.

In his first interview after signing for the club, the midfielder insisted that he was “very competitive, very ambitious, and to be in this club, you want to win the biggest trophies that you can.”

Now, he has made his debut for United with him coming off the bench in the side’s pre-season match against Paris Saint Germain.

United have previously played against Wrexham, Rosenberg, and Atletico Madrid with the latter seeing the club win the Snapdragon Cup for a third consecutive year.

For Tielemans and his family, making his debut for the club represents a proud moment and one that he will not forget.

Given it was in a pre-season match, however, the midfielder has yet to make his debut in competitive circumstances.

He could make his competitive debut for Manchester United in the side’s opening Premier League match of the season against Hull City on Saturday August 22nd.

Youri Tielemans could also make his Old Trafford Premier League debut against Ipswich Town on Sunday August 30th.

Michael Carrick’s side are set to face Leeds United and AC Milan before the Premier League season begins, however, providing the midfielder with further opportunities to build his match fitness before the season gets underway.
