Nicolò Zaniolo is not part of Galatasaray’s plans, so is considering interest from Udinese, Flamengo, Benfica and PSV Eindhoven.

The Italy international has really struggled to find any kind of consistency in his career and at the age of 26 is running out of time to avoid being a squandered talent.

It all started to go wrong for him when he demanded a Roma exit, moving to Galatasaray in February 2023 for €15m.

Zaniolo never lived up to expectations

He only spent six months there before flop loan experiences at Aston Villa, Atalanta and Fiorentina, who all refused to keep him on a more permanent basis.

Now La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Udinese are offering Zaniolo a way out with a return to Serie A, on loan with option to buy.

He would take the place of Florian Thauvin, who was today sold to RC Lens for €6m plus €2m in add-ons.

Other clubs interested in Zaniolo are said to be Flamengo, Benfica and PSV Eindhoven, but he knows Serie A would be his best chance of earning a spot in the Italy squad under new coach Gennaro Gattuso.

His contract with Galatasaray runs to June 2027 and they need to make back the money from that original transfer from Roma.

There had already been mention of Sunderland and Villarreal earlier in the summer.
