According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Joshua Zirkzee wants to leave Manchester United in January to get more playing time and Como are set to rival Roma for the purchase of the ex- Bologna star.
Como are ‘seriously considering’ signing unhappy Manchester United striker Zirkzee in January as the Dutchman seeks more playing time in the second part of the campaign.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee is determined to leave Old Trafford in the winter transfer window as he fears that lack of playing time will cost him a Netherlands call-up for the 2026 World Cup.
Gazzetta confirms that Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini is an admirer of Zirkzee and would gladly welcome in at the Stadio Olimpico in January. Gazzetta claims that Roma are currently in ‘pole position’ to sign the Manchester United forward.
Como, however, have emerged as a credible contender for the ex-Bologna star.
Despite not playing in any European competition this season, Como possess stronger and more stable financial resources than Roma and according to the report, club owners are seriously considering making a move for Zirkee when the transfer window opens in January 2026.
