Now, the AUSL is taking its talents out west with games out in Omaha, Nebraska and Seattle, Washington. These cities love their softball and the fans showed up to catch the action. They were not disappointed as all four teams provided a level of excitement. That being said, here is a look at Games 31 and 32 of the inaugural AUSL season.
Without question, the Bandits and Talons have been two best teams this season and is reflected in the standings. Following a scoreless first inning, the Talons plated five runs across the subsequent three innings. Sharlize Palacios hit a sacrifice fly RBI to put the Talons on the board in the bottom of the second. Next, Jadelyn Allchin hit a two-run home run, Hannah Flippen added a solo homer in the third inning, and Caroline Jacobsen slammed a solo homer of her own in the fourth.
The Talons held a 5-0 lead, meaning the game was out of reach for the Bandits? The short answer is no, responding with a big fifth inning. In the case, the Bandits scored six runs in the top half of the inning. Morgan Zerkle started with a RBI double and Erin Coffel added a two-run single down the right field line, making it a 5-3 game.
However, the bat of Bubba Nickles-Camarena hit a three-run homer into the Nebraska sky for the Bandits for the 6-5 lead. She shares second place in home runs this season, hitting four.
With no runs in the sixth, Sierra Sacco tied the game for the Talons with a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh. In extra innings at Connie Clausen Field, the newly acquired Danielle Gibson Whorton knocked in an RBI with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth, giving the Bandits a 7-6 lead. Victoria Hayward tied it up with an RBI single for the Talons. Ultimately, Ali Aguilar called game with the game-winning RBI double for the 8-7 Talons win.
All things considered, the game between the Blaze and Volts was about offense at Husky Softball Stadium. The offense began early as the Blaze. The team scored four runs thanks to an RBI by Kayla Kowalik and a three-run double by Ali Newland in the top of the first. The Volts added a run in the bottom of the second with a Ciara Briggs RBI single. Also, Mia Scott hit her first career homer in the third, a two-run shot to close the lead at 4-3.

Despite having a six-run inning earlier in the day, the Volts decided to best it with a seven-run inning in the fourth. Overall, it is the most runs in an inning in AUSL history. Jessi Warren scored on a throwing error, tying the game as Briggs hit an RBI single for the lead.
Afterward, Sierra Romero hit an RBI double while Danieca Coffey scored on another Blaze throwing error. Lastly, Warren closed out the scoring in the inning via a double that plated three runs. Even though the Blaze added a pair of RBIs in the fifth by Baylee Klingler and Kowalik, it wasn’t enough.
Former Washington Husky Sis Bates hit a RBI single in her former stomping grounds in the bottom of the sixth for the Volts. All in all, the Volts picked up the 11-6 victory over the Blaze. It is win No. 6 on the AUSL season for the Volts.
