Oklahoma Sooners just sent a brutal message to the rest of the SEC that no one wants to be a part of

Many casual college sports fans may think of football when they think of the Oklahoma Sooners. And that is completely okay, because they are considered a football school. But let me tell you, they are just as much a softball school.

Some may think that doesn't mean anything because there tends to be a certain group of people in the sports world that downplay women's sports when they absolutely shouldn't. The softball world revolves around the Oklahoma Sooners. They are a dynasty, and they have the greatest coach to ever do it.

But, for some reason, and I guess it's the length they have been a dynasty for and the youth of their team, many believed that this would be the last year the Sooners would be called a dynasty. Many believed that the Sooners' four consecutive softball championships from 2021-2024 would not extend to five. And, another reason many thought is because of the inaugural season in the SEC, where there are some pretty good teams.

But none of that matters. The Sooners came over to the SEC, and are continuing to do in the Women's College World Series what they have always done -- show out.

Patty Gasso, the Sooners' head coach, if you will, has 1,565 wins, 84 All-Americans, 17 Women's College World Series appearances, and eight national championships since 1994. And, on Thursday, her team may have sent one of the biggest messages they have ever sent, this time to the SEC.

The Sooners found themselves down 3-1 to Tennessee in the seventh inning of the double-elimination round. With two runners on, Ella Parker decided to hit a walkoff home run, winning the game for the Sooners.

With everyone thinking this season was the end of the run for the Sooners, they sent a big message to the rest of the SEC, one that no one wants to be on the other side of. This team, with the flaws and differences they have compared to past championship teams, can win it all.
