King of the Groms Voting Now Underway

I’d be curious to know the recent screentime of Griffin Colapinto and Kauli Vaast, who somehow narrowed entries into Quiksilver's King of the Groms from over 120 to eight. 

If you aren't aware, Quik has resurrected and revitalized the video-based grom contest, and the event reached the much-anticipated voting stage. The remaining eight surfers' clips that impressed Griffin and Kauli the most. Now, it’s up to you, dear reader. 

Over the next four days, the viewing public (that’s you) can vote for the four surfers you want to see move to the next round. The format features four head-to-head matchups on Quick's Instagram, in which each surfer’s submitted clip is pitted against another. The elite eight are Steve Roberson, Lukas Sinner, Rajo Barrel, Loci Cullen, Mananalu Chandler, Brody Mulik, Dylan Donegan and Matias Canhoto.

Voting instructions are simple: The surfer tagged most in the comments gets the nod. Of note: Each matchup is only open for one day. After 24 hours, the surfer with the most votes advances, then it's on to the next battle. Today, January 30, is the first day of voting. Up first is Indonesia’s Rajo Barrel, a kid who’s practically grown up in the tube at Lakey Peak. His barrel-to-hack-to-air is up against Aussie stud Kash Brown’s psychotic barrel at Ours.
