It looks like we have some more northwest wind swell on the way for the weekend. Another storm system, currently in the Gulf of Alaska, is set to move down the West Coast and give us some wind swell on Sunday.
High pressure far northeast of the state will shift south and dissipate even as a second high builds to the north. Moderate to locally strong trade winds will strengthen to fresh to locally strong on Friday and persist into Monday. Along north and west facing shores, tiny surf will persist through Friday.
Strong winds are expected to continue through Friday, with gale force gusts of 40 to 45 knots possible. Strong winds will result in hazardous seas and steep wind waves with significant wave heights reaching 12 to 16 feet in the outer waters.
