Amanda Anisimova turned plenty of heads in 2025, putting together a strong campaign that included two Grand Slam final appearances.

While she fell just short at Wimbledon and the US Open, there’s growing belief that 2026 could be the year she breaks through for her first major title.

She added two more titles to her collection, bringing her total to four, and spoke positively about how things went overall.

The 24-year-old American also finished the season ranked fourth in the world — a new career-best for her.

Anisimova is looking ahead to the new season, sharing insights into her life and career in a Would You Rather challenge for SELF.

One of the questions posed was whether she’d prefer to play doubles with Serena Williams or have a coaching session with Maria Sharapova.

Anisimova said: “Ohh both would be amazing.

“I think I would go with a personalized coaching session.”

She added: “But then also to play doubles with Serena would be so cool.”

How does Amanda Anisimova’s doubles record compare to Serena Williams?

Anisimova, like many singles players on the WTA Tour, has also stepped into the doubles arena from time to time.

However, she’s played just 12 matches so far, holding a 4-8 record and reaching a career-high ranking of 386th in doubles.

She’s made it to the second round of the French Open twice, but her doubles resume is a world apart from that of Williams.

If Serena Williams returns in 2026 as some have speculated, she would bring back a legacy that includes 14 Grand Slam doubles titles.

She’s also claimed two mixed doubles majors and reached world number one status in both singles and doubles during her career.
