With the 2025 Wimbledon Championships less than two weeks away, tennis fans will miss seeing another star in action as American Sebastian Korda announced his withdrawal from the prestigious grass court tournament.
The Florida native last made an appearance on the ATP Tour at the 2025 French Open, where he defeated Italian Luciano Darderi and fellow American Jenson Brooksby to reach the third round. However, Korda was stopped by compatriot Frances Tiafoe, who recorded a comprehensive victory in three straight sets.
The 24-year old showed no signs of injury during his loss to Tiafoe in Paris. However, Korda withdrew from all Wimbledon warm-up tournaments without giving any official reason, starting with the ongoing Queen's Club Championships.
Without providing a public explanation, Korda announced his withdrawal from SW 19. The former Australian Open quarterfinalist's best appearance at Wimbledon was a fourth round showing in 2021.
American Christopher Eubanks will take Korda's place in the Wimbledon main draw. The former World No.29 was one of the surprises of the 2023 grass court season, winning the title in Mallorca before reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
Korda will join former runner-up Nick Kyrios on the sidelines, as the Australian tennis star announced his withdrawal from Wimbledon after developing a setback from the knee and wrist surgeries he has dealt with over the last two years.
