Andy Roddick Reveals DoorDash Punishment After Picking Against Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon

Heading into the 2025 Wimbledon final, it was anyone’s guess who’d come out on top. Even the bookies had Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz pretty much neck and neck, with Alcaraz just a slight favorite.

But for Andy Roddick, there was no doubt in his mind, he was all in on Alcaraz bagging his third Wimbledon crown. Well … that pick didn’t exactly pan out for him. Not only did Sinner proved him wrong, but he had to pay up in the best (or worst) way possible with a DoorDash punishment that made his bad prediction just a little tastier.

The 42-year-old then revealed what he had to cough up since he lost the bet. He said, “I have to door dash pizzas to his house later tonight because he knows more than I did today uh about this matchup and certainly saw something that I didn't.”

Roddick shared a pretty funny behind-the-scenes story about how this all went down. Turns out, he’s got a group chat with John Isner, James Blake and Mardy Fish where they love to go back and forth about big matches.

On his podcast, Roddick admitted he really thought Alcaraz had the edge going into the final but Isner called it from the jump. “Isner, James Blake, Mardy Fish and I are on a group text,” Roddick said. “When matches like this happen, we all start chirping. I’ve got to give credit to Isner, man. He was all aboard the Sinner train this morning.”

Roddick probably felt pretty smug about his pick when Alcaraz snatched that first set; it looked like we were about to witness a Wimbledon three-peat for Alcaraz.

But yeah, that didn’t exactly pan out. Sinner dug in, flipped the script, and took the next three sets like a boss to lock in his first Wimbledon title. Safe to say Roddick’s prediction didn’t age too well.
