ATP 250 Auckland 1/16-Finals

Medjedovic – Kovacevic: 13.01.2026 03:00 CEST
H2H: 3-0

Hamad Medjedovic has lost three of his last five matches. This week in Auckland, Medjedovic qualified for the main draw tournament. In the final qualifying round, he defeated Bellucci in straight sets. The Serb hopes for a solid result this week to cement his top 100 status.

Aleksandar Kovacevic has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Brisbane, Kovacevic lost to Nakashima in the semifinals in straight sets. Last season, Kovacevic reached the ATP final in Los Cabos, where he lost to Shapovalov in straight sets. He was consistent on hard courts throughout the whole year.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Medjedovic is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He dominated in the qualifying tournament this week in Auckland. He won both head-to-head meetings against Kovacevic on hard courts in straight sets. We expect a similar outcome tomorrow.

That being said, Medjedovic covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Hamad Medjedovic -2.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365

Marozsan – Monfils: 13.01.2026 06:00 CEST
H2H: 1-2

Fabian Marozsan has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Hong Kong, Marozsan lost to Wu in the opening round in straight sets. This will be his second appearance in Auckland. Two seasons ago, the Hungarian lost to Shelton in the second round in straight sets.

Gael Monfils has lost four of his last five matches. So far this season, Monfils has not played any competitive matches. He is the defending champion in Auckland. Last season, the Frenchman defeated Bergs in the final in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this will be an almost 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Marozsan is pushing to enter the top 50 in the rankings. On the other hand, Monfils turns 40 this year, and his form is declining. The Frenchman has not played any competitive matches this season, so we expect Marozsan to be a better player.

That being said, Marozsan winning is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Fabian Marozsan winning @1.62 @bet365

Borges – Etcheverry: 13.01.2026 07:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Nuno Borges has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Hong Kong, Borges lost to Rublev in the quarterfinals in straight sets. Last season in Auckland, he lost to Bergs in the semifinals in three tight sets.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Hong Kong, the Argentine lost to Musetti in the 1/8-Finals in three tight sets, after winning the opening set 7-6. He hopes to return to his best form and get back into the top 50 in the rankings.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this will be a 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Borges is a better hard-court player than Etcheverry. He played well last week in Hong Kong, and we expect him to dominate on the backhand side.

That being said, Borges winning is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Nuno Borges winning @1.80 @bet365
