The ATP 500 in Beijing gets more exciting on Day 3, with four matches to look forward to. Top seed Jannik Sinner will be in action as he continues his quest to reach three championship matches in a row, but first, he has to get past Terence Atmane. Along with the three other encounters, we predict who will make it to the quarterfinals.

ATP Beijing Day 3 Predictions

Jakub Mensik vs Arthur Cazaux

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

Jakub Mensik showed impressive resilience as he defeated Miomir Kecmanovic to advance to the Round of 16 in Beijing. The Czech youngster performed exceptionally well in critical moments to secure a clinical 7-5 6-4 victory over his Serbian opponent. He will now face Arthur Cazaux, who similarly dug deep to outlast Juncheng Shang in three sets.

This marks their first encounter at the tour level, although the Frenchman previously defeated Mensik on the Challenger circuit two years ago. Mensik is a vastly different player from then. If he maintains the level of consistency he showed in his first match, he will likely be too strong for the qualifier.
Prediction: Mensik in 3

Alexandre Muller vs Fabian Marozsan

Head–to–Head:  First Meeting

Alexandre Muller achieved his best performance in several months by surprising Karen Khachanov in Beijing. The French player showed flashes of his impressive form from early to mid-2025 as he rallied to defeat the fifth seed in three sets.

He will face Fabian Marozsan for the first time, adding a bit of uncertainty to the outcome. That being said, the Hungarian’s powerful groundstrokes, along with his venomous serve, will give him an advantage in this one.
Prediction: Marozsan in 3

Alex de Minaur vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

The partisan Chinese crowd didn’t faze Alex de Minaur as he cruised past Bu Yunchaokete 6-4 6-0 in the previous round and will now face big-serving Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech for a chance to reach the quarterfinals.

Rinderknech received a second chance as a lucky loser after being eliminated by David Goffin in the qualifying rounds, and he exerted immediate revenge over the Belgian by securing his first victory against the veteran in three sets.

Rinderknech is having a solid season and will typically bring his power to play, but it is difficult to envision him posing a challenge to a confident De Minaur. The Australian has effectively neutralised larger, more skilled hitters in recent weeks, and based on his performance in his first match here, he appears to be thriving in these conditions.
Prediction: De Minaur in 3

Jannik Sinner vs Terence Atmane

Head–to–Head: Sinner 1 vs 0 Atmane

Jannik Sinner quickly overcame his disappointment from the US Open final with a decisive victory over Marin Cilic in the opening round. The Italian was at this ruthless best, breaking his opponent twice in each set for yet another quick, routine 6-2 6-2 win. The World #2 will face Terence Atmane for the second time in the last two months after their meeting in the Cincinnati semifinal.

Atmane was ranked outside the Top 100 at that time, but he has climbed to #68, and despite a recent injury break, he easily defeated Zhizhen Zhang in straight sets in the first round.

The French underdog can at least take consolation that he is getting close to the level he achieved in Cincinnati, especially when he challenged the top seed during the first set, but once again, Sinner will prove too difficult to overcome.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
