Netherlands – Argentina: 12.09.2025 14:00 CEST
H2H: 0-2
Jesper de Jong – Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Tomas Martin Etcheverry was always a solid clay-court player. However, he had a solid hard-court season this year. He lost to Lehecka in the second round of the US Open in four sets. Jesper de Jong has no weapons for the Argentine’s game. We expect Etcheverry to get the first win for Argentina.
Botic van de Zandschulp – Francisco Cerundolo
Francisco Cerundolo is on the verge of breaking into the top 20 in the rankings. He is a more complete player than Botic van de Zandschulp and is in better form. In their only head-to-head meeting, Cerundolo demolished Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets easily under similar conditions. We expect Cerundolo to get the second win for Argentina.
Verbeek/Arends – Zeballos/Molteni
Horacio Zeballos has just won the US Open with Granollers. He is in great form and will make a difference in this matchup. Andres Molteni has reached the third round of the US Open with Maximo Gonzalez. We expect Zeballos and Molteni to win easily against Verbeek and Arends and get the third win for Argentina.
Jesper de Jong – Francisco Cerundolo
Jesper de Jong has won three of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the US Open, where he lost to Nakashima in the opening round in five tight sets. He reached the main draw of the tournament as a qualifier. His most significant result was reaching the ATP final in Bastad, where he lost to Darderi in three tight sets. On the other hand, Francisco Cerundolo lost against Riedi in the second round in five tight sets. His most significant results were on clay. However, Cerundolo performs well on every surface. He is a more complete player than de Jong, and we expect him to win easily.
Botic van de Zandschulp – Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Botic van de Zandschulp has won three of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the US Open, where he lost to Rune in the opening round in straight sets. The Dutchman put up a big fight, but fell short. Just a week before, he reached the final in Winston-Salem. Tomas Martin Etcheverry has lost three of his last five matches. Botic van de Zandschulp is a better hard-court player, and we expect him to get the first win for the Netherlands.
Argentina has better singles and doubles players than the Netherlands. We expect them to dominate against the Netherlands and win easily.
That being said, Argentina winning is a value bet.
