Royer – Bublik: 23.09.2025 13:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Valentin Royer has won six straight matches. This week in Hangzhou, Royer qualified for the main draw tournament. In the final qualifying round, Royer defeated Spizzirri in three tight sets after spending almost three hours on the court.
In the opening main draw round, Royer defeated Kovacevic in three tight sets after spending two and a half hours. After losing the opening set 4-6, the Frenchman turned the match around. His most significant win happened in the second round, when he upset Rublev in straight sets. Royer served well, whilst losing his serve only once in the match. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Tien in three tight sets after playing for almost three hours. After losing his serve at the very beginning of the deciding set, Royer immediately broke back. He then won four straight games and closed out the match easily.
Today in the semifinals, Moutet stood no chance against Royer. The French sensation offered and saved only two breakpoints. He dominated from the start until the end. With that win, he entered his maiden ATP final. Royer is enjoying his maiden appearance in Hangzhou.
Alexander Bublik has won three of his last five matches. Last week in the Davis Cup, the Kazakh retired mid-match against Kwon.
This week in Hangzhou, Bublik won the opening match against Vukic in three tight sets. This was also his toughest challenge so far this week. After losing the opening set 6-7, Bublik stepped up his level and turned the match around. He offered no breakpoints. In the quarterfinals, Bublik demolished Svrcina in straight sets within an hour. He played aggressively well, and Svrcina just could not find the answers. The Kazakh offered and saved only one breakpoint.
Today in the semifinals, he defeated Wu in straight sets. Wu had a full crowd on his side, but that just was not enough. Once again, Bublik served great, not offering any breakpoints. He is the third seed this week in Hangzhou. So far this season, Bublik has surprisingly won two ATP titles on clay courts. This will be his first ATP final this season on hard.
According to the bookies, Bublik is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He looks motivated on the court, and his serve is incredible. Royer did his maximum, but he had no weapons for the Kazakh’s game. If Bublik serves well tomorrow, we expect him to dominate and win easily.
That being said, Bublik covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Alexander Bublik -3.5 games handicap @1.91 @bet365
We expect Bublik to set the tone early in the match. On the other hand, Royer will be nervous coming into this matchup, considering his experience at the highest level. We expect Bublik to break early and get the lead at the beginning of the opening set.
That being said, Bublik leading 3-1 after four games of the opening set is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Alexander Bublik to lead 3-1 after four games in the first set @+250 @FanDuel
