No. 1 seed and three-time Eastbourne Open champion Taylor Fritz won his first two matches on Thursday to reach the semifinals in England.

After holding off Brazil's Joao Fonseca 6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-5 in his delayed opener at the grass-court event, Fritz outlasted fellow American Marcos Giron 7-5, 4-6, 7-5. Up next is sixth-seeded Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, a 6-4, 7-5 winner over third-seeded Jakub Mensik of the Czech Republic.

The other semifinal pits fourth-seeded Ugo Humbert of France against unseeded American Jenson Brooksby. Both dashed the hopes of British fans Thursday with wins against Billy Harris and Daniel Evans, respectively.

Mallorca Championships

No. 2 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada improved to 7-0 in quarterfinal matches this year with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win against Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic in Spain.

Auger-Aliassime survived three break points in the third set to pull even with Carlos Alcaraz for the most semifinal appearances in 2025. He will face fourth-seeded Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands, who eliminated No. 6 seed Gabriel Diallo of Canada 6-4, 6-4.

No. 3 seed Alex Michelsen will meet unseeded Frenchman Corentin Moutet in the other grass-court semifinal. Michelsen defeated seventh-seeded Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 7-6 (4) and Moutet dispatched American teenager Learner Tien 6-2, 7-5.
