In the 1/8-Finals, Vacherot upset Griekspoor in three tight sets, after losing the opening set 4-6. It seemed as if everything was over for Vacherot in the quarterfinals against Rune. After losing the opening set 2-6, Vacherot once again turned the match around. He fought three hours for a well-deserved win.

His most significant win happened today in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic. Vacherot once again surprised everyone and defeated the Serb in straight sets. Besides losing his serve at the beginning of the match, Vacherot dominated. He offered only two breakpoints throughout the match.
