'Authentic conversations and laugh a lot': Venus and Serena Williams launch new podcast on X

Tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams are teaming up for a new podcast, exclusively on X, where they will co-host a series of interviews. The sisters, both former world No. 1s, are reuniting, though this time off the tennis courts, for what promises to be a relaxed conversational space featuring varied guests and shared personal stories.

Serena, 43, retired in 2022 with a total of 23 Grand Slam titles and is arguably the greatest female tennis player in history. Her sister Venus also had a highly successful career that solidified her as a sporting legend, with 7 Grand Slam titles, including two Wimbledons.

Together, they achieved immense success in doubles, winning 14 major titles as a team, along with three women's doubles Olympic gold medals (2000, '08, '12). Serena also secured two mixed doubles Grand Slams with Max Mirnyi, and Venus the same amount with Justin Gimelstob.

This time, they will be co-hosts of a podcast on X, the social media platform controlled by Elon Musk. On the podcast, they will interview "visionaries, creators, and rulebreakers passionate about shattering the status quo" to give fans "a front-row seat into their playful banter and undeniable bond."

Serena recently announced the venture in an interview with Variety. “We’re so excited to be launching our new podcast, a place where we will share our personal stories, have authentic conversations, spotlight important topics, and laugh a lot,” she revealed. “This platform gives us the chance to engage directly with our fans who have supported us throughout our careers, and we’re excited to connect with audiences, old and new, in a way we’ve never done before.”

Both sisters maintain an active social media presence, with Serena having 10.2 million followers on X and 18.1 million on Instagram, while Venus surpasses 1.6 million on X and another 2 million on Instagram.
